We care for the health of our patients and families in many ways, going far beyond medical services to deliver healthy experiences in a friendly, comfortable environment. Some of our most commonly used amenities and comfort services include:
We are in the process of establishing “At Your Request” meal delivery to our patients. “At Your Request” allows patients to ask for a made-to-order breakfast, lunch and dinner. Patients should have a Room Service Menu in their room upon arrival. If a menu is not in the room, patients should ask their nurse for a copy.
Please note that during medical center stays, a patient’s physician may order a special diet related to the patient’s medical condition or procedure. The nurse can help explain diet restrictions and assist patients in making appropriate menu selections.
Telephones and Television
Most patient rooms have telephones. On each telephone is a four-digit extension number, different from the room number. People outside Washington Regional Medical Center may contact patients directly by dialing the patient information number at 252-793-4135.
If patients would like to have their room telephone turned off or routed to the nurses’ station, please speak with the nurse. The telephone should not be unplugged.
To place an outside local call, dial 9, the area code, and the seven-digit telephone number. For patients with hearing difficulties, phone amplifiers are available by contacting your nursing staff. Telephone Device for the Deaf (TDD) service is available.
